Project 11
Originating from a collection of stereoscopic photographs of Palestine housed in the special collections of John Hay Library at Brown University, whose lens? unpacks the structures of power, rhetoric, and media that have produced the American understanding of, and relationship with, the Middle East. Through a mix of archival and found images/videos, the piece investigates the origin of our assumptions, questioning who manipulates the lens through which we look, and who might benefit from doing so.
